One Packaging System Across Twelve Product Categories, Replenished Weekly

Shane Co. is the largest privately owned jeweler in the United States, with stores in 13 states. They needed one packaging system that protected the product, presented consistently across categories, and met the brand's premium standards at scale. Kargo developed and produced that system.

The Challenge

Shane Co. ran different packaging across categories with no shared standard for color, texture, or fit. The packaging had to protect jewelry in transit, present well in-store, and arrive gift-ready without extra wrapping. Standard stock materials could not match the brand's color and texture requirements. The system also had to scale nationally without adding inventory cost.

The Solution

Kargo managed the project from development through production and logistics. We engineered a single system that works across all categories and holds one visual and structural standard.

Key elements:

Custom-sized hinge boxes, fully lined and padded to protect each product
Outer gift boxes that arrive ready to give, removing the need for extra wrapping
Retail and shipping bags designed to double as gift bags, cutting the number of sizes to stock

Packaging is manufactured offshore, warehoused in California, and shipped to stores weekly, keeping inventory lean and supply consistent.

Materials & Structure

We developed materials specifically for Shane Co., including a custom off-white textured linen paper and a lining matched to the brand's dove grey standard. Boxes were engineered for precise product fit and protection in transit. Every color and material was produced to brand specification.
