A Leather Jewelry Box Line Built as One Family

Shane Co. needed a custom leather jewelry box line that served three different uses and still read as one collection. Kargo designed, sourced, developed, and produced the full line. It included a travel-size purse box, a unisex medium with dedicated watch space, and a premium large box with multiple pockets and closures. The line launched in five colors, with pebble leather on the travel and medium boxes and smooth quilted leather on the large.

The Challenge

Each size had a different job to do. Together, they still had to feel premium and cohesive as one family. That meant finding an Asia-based leather accessory manufacturer who could hit the quality bar across every style, then running multiple rounds of prototyping and testing before launch.

Materials & Sourcing

We selected materials and hardware to give the line one consistent language across all three sizes.

  • Premium pebble leather on the travel and unisex medium boxes

  • Smooth quilted leather on the large box, the detail that set the hero piece apart

  • Custom zippers with matching teeth, pullers, and heads

  • Screw-back ball stud closures

  • Padded, painted, and etched suede interiors

Sourcing came down to one requirement: a manufacturer who could execute the quilting, the matched hardware, and the suede work across three styles and five colors without losing consistency.

The Solution

Kargo built the three boxes as a single family. The travel box fits in a purse. The unisex medium sits in between and works for either gender. The large box carries the quilted leather on top. Every box shared the same material language, so the collection read as intentional from smallest to largest.

What We Learned

Real leather dye can migrate onto silver and tarnish it. Gold is unaffected. We now run a compatibility test on every leather-and-metal project and use treated anti-tarnish linings as standard.
